Apogee Savannah exists for families who believe learning happens best when young people are trusted, challenged, and given real responsibility.
Our students mature through self-directed work, meaningful contribution, and the freedom to grow into capable, responsible adults.
Apogee Savannah was founded by parents who shared a quiet conviction: that childhood is too precious, and the stakes of leadership too high, to settle for an education built on arbitrary achievement.
We envisioned a school where students are known by name and by story. A place where they are invited to wrestle with big ideas, practice meaningful work, and grow in character—guided by mentors who model integrity and purpose.
On our campus, learning feels less like checking boxes and more like entering a meaningful journey, where each child is invited to grow with purpose. We believe true achievement is found in character, service, and strong family bonds, and we walk alongside both students and parents in that formation.
Savannah's heritage of beauty, story, and craftsmanship offered the perfect backdrop. From the beginning, Apogee Savannah has been designed to feel more like a guild or atelier than a factory—a community where young people apprentice in wisdom and life-skills not just academics.
"More like a guild or atelier than a factory—a community where young people apprentice in wisdom and life-skills."
Our mission is to partner with families to cultivate young men and women of wisdom, virtue, and skill—leaders on purpose—through a leader-driven education grounded in timeless truth and real-world application.
To cultivate the highest potential in each person. We prepare young people to think clearly, act responsibly and live with purpose in the real-world.
Everything we do at Apogee Savannah is aimed at forming the whole person—mind, heart, and habits. Our approach blends the richness of academics with the practicality of apprenticeships and real-world projects.
Students engage with living books, primary sources, morning huddles, leadership communication, and rich storytelling—while also building portfolios, presenting work, and solving real problems that matter beyond the classroom walls.
Academic understanding matters, but it is not enough. We are just as attentive to how students treat others, keep their word, and respond to challenge. Leadership at Apogee begins with self-governance, humility, and service.
Our intentionally limited enrollment allows mentors to truly know each student—their strengths, questions, and next steps. This intimacy creates the trust necessary for honest feedback, deep conversation, and meaningful growth.
Apogee Savannah attracts educators who could excel in many settings, yet choose to invest deeply in a smaller community.
Our leadership and coaches are selected not only for their expertise, but for the way they live, listen, and lead. Each coach is committed to walking alongside students over time—asking good questions, offering thoughtful counsel, and pointing them toward a vision of adulthood that is rich in purpose and anchored in truth.
"Chosen for subject mastery and character—mentors who invest in the whole student."
Choosing a school is ultimately an act of trust. At Apogee Savannah, we honor that trust by walking closely with families—communicating clearly, listening carefully, and holding a high standard of integrity.
A supportive learning environment; thoughtful rhythms to the day; and a culture that prizes respect, responsibility, and joy in the work of learning.
Learning through play, physical fitness, projects, workshops, camps, and events, students are continually invited to explore, build, and lead in age-appropriate ways that stretch and inspire them.
Parents at Apogee Savannah value both excellence and humility. You will find a community of families who encourage one another, share ideas, and are united in their desire to see children flourish in every dimension.

Apogee Savannah was founded by Brit Claus, a Savannah resident, entrepreneur, and mother of three who believes deeply that education should cultivate curiosity, independence, and character — not simply prepare students to pass tests.
Brit and her husband Ryan both attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where they developed a deep appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship, and the rich cultural history of Savannah. After building careers and raising their family in the community, Brit began to look more closely at the educational options available to families in the area.
Like many parents, she found herself asking a simple but important question: Is the traditional model of schooling truly designed to help children become thoughtful, capable, independent adults?
The more she studied education — from Montessori philosophy to the writings of thinkers like John Taylor Gatto — the more convinced she became that many of the most important aspects of learning were often missing in conventional environments.
Children are naturally curious. They want to build, explore, question, and understand the world around them. But too often, modern schooling leaves little room for independence, creativity, mentorship, or real-world problem solving.
Brit began exploring alternative education models across the country and eventually discovered Apogee, a network of learner-driven communities designed to develop strong academics alongside leadership, entrepreneurship, and character.
Rather than treating students as passive participants in a standardized system, Apogee environments are designed to help young people take ownership of their education while developing the habits, discipline, and intellectual curiosity that will serve them throughout life. Apogee Savannah was created to bring this model to families in the Lowcountry.
For Brit, this work is deeply personal. As a mother of three, she believes every child deserves an environment that respects their curiosity and challenges them to grow into capable, thoughtful individuals.
Apogee Savannah exists to create exactly that kind of place — a place where children can develop strong minds, strong character, and a deep sense of purpose as they grow into the next generation of builders, thinkers, and leaders.
